Carlos Rego joins the UK-2 Group as Senior Usability Officer
London, UK (Gawkwire.com) Carlos Rego, 34, joins UK-2 Group, one of the world’s largest Internet services companies, as their new Senior Usability Officer, responsible for redefining the web hosting end user experience. Rego is well known in the hosting community and was former Managing Director of Positive Software, which was acquired by Parallels.
“In an industry where many players are as indistinct as the nodes of the Internet, Carlos is one of those rare few who can point out actual achievements. His work at Positive Software elevated H-Sphere from obscurity to one of the top control panels in the industry. He has demonstrably built up several companies and we look forward to a similar contribution here at UK-2 Group,” says Ditlev Bredahl, of the UK-2Group.
“While many hosting companies are on the same technological level, few address the issue of user interface. I intend to develop the industry’s most powerful, user-friendly and dynamic control panel and with an ear towards what consumers are telling us they’d like to see. This is a dramatic departure from traditional hosting philosophies that are based on providing users with what the company wants them to use,” says Rego.
Rego was also one of the pioneers of redundant and split web services, which are now industry standards, and implemented software capable of cloud/grid based environments, years before it became a hot topic.
