Liquid Web's Matthew Hill Honored As One Of Areas Top Young Professionals
LANSING, MICHIGAN (Gawkwire.com) The Lansing Regional Chamber, The Greater Lansing Business Monthly and the Grand River Connection have partnered to recognize "10 Over the next 10". Matthew Hill CEO and Founder of Liquid Web Inc was honored as one of top 10 area young professionals who, over the next 10 years, will contribute significantly to the Lansing community and become one of tomorrow’s leaders. This was the second year the award was given.
Matthew founded Liquid Web in 1997, it was his third venture at 16. From the beginning, Liquid Web has been focused on staying at the leading edge of innovation within the web hosting industry, while creating value through premium and consistent customer service which has come to be known as "Heroic Support".
In 2000 Matthew opened Liquid Web's first Lansing based office on Aurelius Road after experiencing increased customer demand for managed hosting products. With a local office and a mission of quality in hand, Matthew was able to ensure a very high level of service. Shortly there after, Matthew moved Liquid Web's servers from a collocation facility in Scranton, PA to the first Creyts road facility and established the first Liquid Web data center, DC1. DC1 was an important milestone in the growth of Liquid Web and allowed Liquid Web to enter into a wider foray of technology offerings and with facility control in hand the improved quality fueled organic sales and quite rapidly DC1 was filled. The rapid growth necessitated the engineering and creation of a second facility called DC2.
DC2 is a 32,000 square foot data center that is home to 8,000 additional client servers housing more than three quarters of a million web sites and more than 150 full time high tech employees. As of September 2008, DC2 is filled to 80% capacity. DC2 is expected to be filled by February of 2009.
In 2008 Matthew began construction on Liquid Web's newest 90,000 square foot data center in Lansing on Ena drive. This new data center will be home to the next 600 high tech liquid web engineers and more than 25,000 client servers. Matthew and Liquid Web were honored in 2007 and 2008 as one of INC Magazines 5,000 fastest growing companies in the country.
