Microsoft Files Motion To Block Word Ban
(WebHost Magazine) Microsoft has filed an emergency motion in an effort to block a judicial order that would ban sales of MS Word within 60 days and impose more than $240 million in fines on the software maker.
The order was filed Friday under seal in U.S. District Court for Eastern Texas.
Judge Leonard Davis last week ruled that Word steps on U.S. patent 5,787,449, which describes a "Method and System for Manipulating the Architecture and the Content of a Document Separately from Each Other," according to court records. ... Go to source
