Incisive Media Announces SES Re-branding to Reflect Convergence of Social Media and Search Industries.

(Gawkwire.com) - SES Toronto, Canada’s largest search engine marketing conference, opened today at the Hyatt Regency Toronto, and continues through June 11. Marketers participating in SES Toronto 2010 will attend sessions on social media, search and advertising, and mingle with their peers to make contacts and share their latest marketing successes.

At the opening of today’s conference, Incisive Media announced the re-branding of their global conference and training series from “Search Engine Strategies” to “SES” to reflect the broadening of marketing programs to include more expansive offerings for digital marketers.

“For some time, we’ve been aware that the real-time communications brought about through social media communities, as well as new technologies in real time bidding via ad networks and exchanges, is having a game-changing effect on marketing programs,” said Matt McGowan, publisher and head of U.S. for Incisive Media. “Re-branding our popular conference series to SES is a natural evolution reflecting where the industry is today.”

In addition to sessions and panels throughout the conference, each day will begin with a keynote address by a well regarded industry personality. Peter Morville, President of Semantic Studios and co-author of the recently published, Search Patterns: Design for Discovery, a practical guide for building effective search applications, will keynote on Thursday, June 10. Maile Ohye, Senior Developer Programs Engineer at Google, will keynote on Friday, June 11. She will give attendees a rare peek into webmaster resources, Webmaster Central.
