The Planet Executive to Address Microsoft Summit

HOUSTON, TX – The Planet, the world’s largest privately held dedicated hosting company, today announced that William Charnock, vice president, technology, will deliver an address at the 2008 Partnering Executive Summit, an invitation-only event held on the first day of the Microsoft Worldwide Partner Conference (WPC). Charnock’s presentation, scheduled for Monday, July 7, at 3 p.m. CDT, is titled, “Why Linux Hosters Should Care About Microsoft’s ‘Software + Services’ Platform.”

The address will take place at the Hilton Americas-Houston, conference hotel for the WPC. Charnock will co-present with Hyder Ali, industry director for Microsoft’s communications sector.

“A number of our more than 22,000 customers are Linux-based resellers, so we have a unique perspective on the hosting market,” said Charnock. “As more enterprise-class customers migrate to hosting their IT infrastructures, we’re seeing an increased interest in Microsoft platforms, and we’ve made preparations to address this expanding opportunity.”
The Partnering Executive Summit will draw more than 100 senior-level executives from Microsoft partner companies. The summit is in conjunction with the 2008 WPC, scheduled for July 7-11 at the George R. Brown Convention Center in Houston. The event provides a wide range of resources for its partners, enabling companies to leverage their Microsoft investment by sharing in future business opportunities, participating in hands-on training, and networking with the extended partner community.

The Planet is a bronze-level conference sponsor and will showcase its hosting solutions and services at Booth 1114.
