Vocus Announces the Vocus Virtual Conference

Lanham, MD (Gawkwire.com) Vocus, Inc. (NASDAQ: VOCS) a leading provider of on-demand software for public relations management, today announced that the Vocus Virtual Conference - How to Effectively Leverage Social Media - will be held on July 23, 2009 from 10:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. (EST). The virtual conference, which will be hosted entirely online, features panels and sessions with leading public relations experts including Aaron Brazell, Peter Corbett and Richard Laermer.

The all day event offers a noon-time keynote session on "Putting the Public Back in Public Relations," by the authors of the book with the same title, Brian Solis and Deirdre K. Breakenridge. A live chat session with the authors will follow the keynote. In addition, the agenda includes six other sessions on topics ranging from Twitter best-practices and Blogger relations - tips to avoiding the Bad Pitch Blog will be offered.

"The Vocus Virtual Conference agenda is based on the Vocus' Eighth Annual User Conference, which drew hundreds of public relations, government relations and political action committee professionals to Washington, DC this past June," said William Wagner, Chief Marketing Officer at Vocus. "Vocus makes a substantial investment in providing professional education programs for our customers and this year's conference was so successful, we wanted to find a way to make the content available online to the entire PR industry."

"Vocus' Eighth Annual User Conference was one of the most useful professional development events I've attended," said Michael Hemmesch, director of media relations at Saint John's University in Collegeville, Minn. "The Vocus Virtual Conference is an unprecedented opportunity to interact and learn from some of the most respected public relations professionals in the industry today. More importantly, for those who were unable to attend the actual User Conference in DC this past June, certainly the Vocus Virtual Conference is the next best thing."

The cost for attending the Vocus Virtual Conference is $129. For additional information on the agenda, feature speakers and registration visit http://www.vocus.com/vc2009/.
