Ashburn, VA (Gawkwire.com) Carpathia Hosting, the leading provider of enterprise managed hosting services for govern¬ment agencies and businesses, announced today the release of an e-Book authored by new Chief Technology Officer, Jon Greaves. The e-Book, titled Datacenter of the Future, will give insight into the future of datacenters. It will be published one chapter per month over the next eight months. The Forward to the e-Book is available for download immediately.
“As customers embrace dynamic computing and start to leverage more virtualized solutions, the demands on managed hosting pro¬viders, as well as what will be required to support them, will evolve creating a new breed of datacenter optimization services focused at the customers’ workloads,” said Greaves. “We see this ‘datacenter of the future’ linking these workloads and optimization services to provide customers with the cost benefits of dynamic computing with the availability and performance they require. This e-Book will explore the challenges and opportunities of this transformational datacenter.”
A recognized leader in the information technology services industry, Greaves has spent a significant part of his career focused on man¬aged services and operations with a particular emphasis on remote services delivery. Prior to joining Carpathia Hosting, Greaves was a Distinguished Engineer and held the role of CTO of Sun Microsystems’ Services business. Over the next eight months, Greaves will have leading industry experts join him as he explores a number of topics including virtual¬ization, security and privacy, monitoring and management, and operational processes and discipline in the datacenter of the future. The first chapter, due for release in December, will focus on the growing importance of security and privacy. As workloads inside the datacenter change, customers’ ability to leverage shared cloud services will force organizations to rethink how security and privacy is managed. Greaves will explore the increasing portability of data and how it impacts managing security going forward.
