Opus Interactive Joins VMware vCloud Initiative As A VMware Service Provider

Portland, OR (Gawkwire.com) Opus Interactive, a leading managed services provider of professional hosting solutions, today announced it has joined the VMware vCloud initiative as a member of the VMware Service Provider Program. The VMware vCloud initiative is aimed at helping enterprises and service providers of all sizes safely tap compute capacity inside and outside their firewalls - how they want, when they want, and as much as they want. This helps ensure availability and quality of service for any application, whether it is running internally or as a service.

"This relationship with VMware validates our efforts to drive best-of-breed technologies that enable our customers to reach their business goals," said Jason Nuss, Opus Interactive Chief Operating Officer. "Opus Interactive has a full-service Internet Data Center, providing a robust managed services offering with Virtual Dedicated Servers, full-scale migrations, support and maintenance for VMware virtualized environments, shared web and application hosting, firewalls, load balancing, and dedicated high-speed Internet access. As a VMware service provider partner, Opus Interactive is expanding the breadth of its custom hosting solutions while reducing its eco footprint."

"Over the past several years, we've made a significant investment in our virtualization environment," added Eric Hulbert, Chief Technology Officer at Opus. "With technologies from VMware, LeftHand Networks, and HP Blades we can truly provide on-demand, fully scalable, and redundant solutions. VMware's industry-leading virtualization platform is the foundation of our solution delivery."

"The VMware vCloud Initiative introduces an entirely new model for IT where organizations can leverage their existing investments in the VMware platform to increase business agility and reduce costs by transitioning to the cloud," said William Shelton, Director of Product Management for Emerging Business at VMware. "With the vClustr™ hosting environment from Opus Interactive, our enterprise and SMB customers can benefit from fully redundant and dedicated virtual environments. Opus Interactive enables these customers to deploy secure virtual machines, on demand, allowing for rapid scalability of infrastructure."
