Thanks to Spiderhost, Wireless Internet Access in Lake Mary is Free
Spiderhost announces the launch of its free wireless network.
LAKE MARY, Fla. (Gawkwire.com) Local IT and Internet solutions partner Spiderhost announces the launch of its free wireless network. As shown below, the network currently serves a one-mile radius (indicated in red) and is available to anyone with a wireless-enabled device. By early 2009 the network will encompass all of downtown Lake Mary and the surrounding five-mile radius (indicated in orange).
The network is open daily from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM and includes security from spyware, viruses, and adult content.
A quick Google search on “demand for wireless Internet” turns up over 2 million results, evidence of the growing popularity of wireless Internet access. From an article on how a country-wide wireless network would benefit schools1 to a piece about British Parliament’s burgeoning need for wireless2, it’s clear such demand is increasing.
And now, thanks to Spiderhost, wireless Internet access in Lake Mary is free.
Lake Mary’s police and fire departments, city hall, and events center are in talks with Spiderhost to determine if the network will meet their needs.
Spiderhost also has an option for business to use the network in lieu of their existing connection, which has the potential to save many businesses $300 or more annually.
Livia Hirsch, owner of Shades Salon, loves the free Internet access. “Spiderhost’s free wireless network is great for my spa. Now I have one less bill to pay, but still get Internet access that’s fast and safe from viruses. I don’t know how they can give it to everyone for free, but it’s great!”
