Beta Browser Shootout

The purpose of this test was to compare the page loading performance of the newest versions of three major browsers: Internet Explorer 8 (IE8), Chrome 1, and Safari 4. Firefox 3.0 was included as a baseline.

(WebPerformance) A recent test was conducted to compare the page loading performances of three browsers: Internet Explorer 8 (IE8), Chrome 1, and Safari 4 while Firefox 3.0 was included as a baseline.

15 of the top 16 rated english-language websites by Alexa.com (as of February 3, 2009) were chosen for the test. The websites used to conduct the test are listed as follows:
