AppGate Network Security Positioned in the Magic Quadrant for SSL VPNs 2009

(Gawkwire.com) AppGate Network Security, a leading provider of network security solutions, today announced that Gartner, Inc. has positioned it in the Magic Quadrant report for SSL VPNs, 2009.i

"We are glad to see Gartner’s recognition, which we believe highlights our strong position in this space. What AppGate offers differs from the traditional SSL VPN solution. AppGate is using SSH and delivers a complete business solution that stretches far beyond the original design boundaries of SSH", said Tomas Olovsson, AppGate CTO. “With our solution we take control of end point security and allow granular access to business critical information through policies, rules and roles” Olovsson continues.

Designed to protect corporate assets and services, AppGate’s system provides precise control and full monitoring of user access. The choice of SSH also makes the solution compatible with a large number of networking products on the market and it enables automated connections from computer systems. The concept behind the technology actually means that data and applications are more secure with AppGate, and AppGate’s products are used by a number of Government and defence organisations around the world as well as in the SME segment.

As always AppGate security servers build on existing proven functionality such as:

Application Layer Firewall
Mobile & Fixed VPN
Granular & Role based Access Control
End-point Security with device check

To appear in this Magic Quadrant, a vendor must meet Gartner's criteria for revenue, geographic presence, functional capabilities and "reference-ability".
