Can't Beat Them? Join Them: Expatriate Web Dev. Head South Of The Border

Buenos Aires, Argentina (Gawkwire.com) Amidst concerns among web developers stemming from the economic crisis, Connaxis Creative Outsourcing today unveiled plans to expand its growing team to include 150 unique specialists. Examples of the team's current and future players include individual experts in Flash, After Effects, 3D, Adobe Flex, AS3, PHP, HTML and CSS.

One-Stop-Shop for Specialists
The company believes the strategy of employing a full team of senior specialists will revolutionize web development outsourcing by offering US and European partners a one-stop-shop that fulfills the needs of an increasingly complex industry.

"For any project to be successfully and professionally implemented, a number of specialists must be involved. The experts needed on deck are constantly changing as no two projects are ever the same. Web development firms need access to a wide range of professionals, but cannot afford to keep all of them on their payroll. Connaxis eliminates the need for employment contracts and overhead by providing agencies with the capabilities they need only when they need them," states Connaxis Managing Director Peter van Grinsven.

Hiring 150 Specialists during an Economic Crisis
While web development specialists cannot be guaranteed full time positions in the United States, many have found an abundance of work waiting for them in other countries. David Coleman, an American PHP specialist working as a Senior Software Engineer for Connaxis was pleasantly surprised by the quality of life he affords in Buenos Aires from his salary paid in Argentine Pesos. Coleman, refusing to be a victim of the crisis at home, adopted a 'can't beat them, join them' mentality.

"How many programmers in the United States are actually doing what they are trained to do these days? My former coworkers are some of the best in the industry. Today they are waiting tables and washing cars. Such a waste of talent. I just couldn't let that happen to me," says Coleman, who lives in Buenos Aires with his wife. "As the cost of living is one of the lowest in the world, it is possible to enjoy Buenos Aires on an Argentine salary, even if the pay is less than what it would be in the United States."

Buenos Aires Inspires the Imagination
In addition to the advantages of Buenos Aires serving as a destination for expatriates, Connaxis benefits from a pool of local talent that represents some of the most creative designers in the world.

"Argentina is one of the top three centers for design in the world. It should be no surprise that our team is creating ground-breaking stuff," says Connaxis Creative Director Christian Fernandez. "They are sitting in a metropolis filled with natural beauty, diverse architecture, and great weather. Our culture also encourages creative individuality and passion. I believe all of these factors serve as fuel for the imagination, giving us a competitive advantage over competing outsourcing firms in other countries."

Redefining Global Outsourcing
Connaxis is working hard to defy preconceived notions concerning global outsourcing. Language barriers are overcome by hiring from within the Buenos Aires expatriate community. For example, customers in the United States communicate directly with American project managers. The company's location between Europe and North America eliminates time zone issues with either continent. The company plans to maintain its business model that breaks away from the traditional as it rapidly expands within the coming months.
