Trends for the Best Computer Hardware Websites Detailed in New Report

West Simsbury, CT (Gawkwire.com) WebAward.org The Web Marketing Association, host of leading website awards competition WebAwards, released the Internet Standards Assessment Report (ISAR) to help the computer hardware industry create more effective and engaging websites.

"As the standard of excellence for websites continues to increase, consumers (and WebAward judges) are increasingly picky about what they consider to be an effective website," said William Rice, president of the Web Marketing Association, Inc. "The most effective computer hardware websites are leveraging animated graphics, 3D modeling and video to entertain and inform the visitor. Sites that aren't doing this will quickly fall behind in terms of web development."
 
The WebAwards competition judges computer hardware websites on seven criteria that combined create award-winning websites:

Design
Innovation
Content
Technology
Interactivity
Copywriting
Ease of use

Computer hardware has significantly outperformed the ISAR Index for three of the past four years with 2008 being inline with the Index. Although computer hardware sites recent performance, the poor performance in 2004 has resulted in a drag on computer hardware sites scoring for the 5-year criteria benchmark. Computer hardware sites tend to be strongest in content, copywriting and ease of use. They beat the WebAward criteria average benchmark in the ease of use category. They score lowest in innovation and technology.

The 2008 WebAward for Best Computer Hardware Web site went to HL2 for Microsoft Hardware Sidewinder Mouse.
