Hostway and Stratavia Partner to launch NetDBAs

(Gawkwire.com) - Hostway Corporation has announced that it has partnered with Stratavia to launch NetDBAs; a revolutionary, enterprise-class database automation solution that simplifies the management of corporate databases and can be consumed cost effectively as a service.

NetDBAs is a unique database automation tool meant to simplify and automate routine, time consuming tasks such as installing new databases, administering users, applying patches, and managing backups. Through a simple and intuitive web-interface, NetDBAs turns complex work flows into point and click operations that can be performed by any member of an IT organization. NetDBAs is distinctive in that it can be accessed by any business, anywhere from the Hostway cloud.  Database servers may be located in one of Hostway’s global data centers, on-site in the customer’s corporate offices, or in any third party data center.  The initial release will manage editions of Microsoft SQL Server database; future versions will add support for databases from other manufacturers.

“We are excited to team with Hostway to launch the industry’s first database administration as a service offering on the cloud,” said Thor Culverhouse, President and CEO, Stratavia.  “With Stratavia’s Data Palette driving the automation behind NetDBAs, IT administrators can better manage the full lifecycle of database operations, thereby enabling companies to realize economies of scale and better return on investment from the cloud.”

“We are excited to launch this value added solution that will automate and simplify the most time consuming and repetitive tasks typically performed by database administrators,” says Todd Benjamin, vice president of Enterprise Hosting, Hostway.” With assistance from Stratavia we have harnessed high-end enterprise-class automation technology, simplified it, and deployed it in the cloud to be cost effective and versatile, solving a prevailing challenge for today’s efficiency minded corporations.”
