PCI Compliant Hosting Datacenter Expands Operations
Kansas City, MO (Gawkwire.com) GreenSoft Solutions, Inc. ("GSI"), has successfully completed a six-month expansion project to add capacity to its AirWorld Technology Center ("ATC") in Kansas City. The project has more than doubled the available cabinets for GSI's clients, and reflects the company's on-going development efforts to build out more of its 77,000 square-foot facility in a modular fashion to accommodate business growth.
This expansion was designed with the enterprise hosting client in mind, as it contains 36-inch raised floors, state-of- the-art high-density power capability, and a robust cooling infrastructure substantial enough to support any blade technology and high-density hosting application. Utilizing Liebert power conditioning and battery backup equipment, this expansion delivers 5,000 "usable" watts of clean A/B power to each cabinet within the expanded data center. Thirty-ton Liebert precision cooling and humidity control units produce almost two tons of cooling capacity for every cabinet. The design of this expansion contains numerous energy efficiency measures, including low voltage lighting, air circulation enhancements and cold aisle containment techniques.
"The demand for managed hosting services continues to grow as our clients and prospects seek power and cooling capabilities adequate to support the enhanced computing infrastructures of today and tomorrow," said Robin Greenhagen, GSI's founder and chief technology officer. "This expansion will address those needs by delivering well over 200 watts of reliable power per square foot, while easily maintaining all environment controls within comfortable and efficient operating ranges. We are happy to be able to bring this additional capacity on line right now in order to support mission-critical computing with these advanced cooling, power, redundancy and sustainability capabilities."
GSI's AirWorld Technology Center was built by AT&T and acquired by GSI in 2006. GSI has completed numerous renovations and modernization projects to this 77,000 square foot facility, including power and cooling enhancements, security and video surveillance initiatives, fire detection and suppression measures, and network expansion and protection. GSI relocated its corporate offices to ATC in late 2007 from its other enterprise-class data center in downtown Kansas City. GSI is one of the largest commercial data center operators in the Midwest, and has built a global managed services business by understanding its clients' business and mission-critical processes, and maintaining a service delivery organization that consistently exceeds its clients' expectations.
