(Gawkwire) – Savision, the market leader in solutions for Microsoft’s System Center, has released a major update to their Vital Signs product line, focused on monitoring and managing the Microsoft Private Cloud.
Vital Signs offers state-of-the art capacity management features to optimize every aspect of the Microsoft Private Cloud.
“Vital Signs is really the only solution that understands the Microsoft Private Cloud as well as what runs inside it,” Rob Doucette, CTO of Savision, said. “With the growing popularity of the Microsoft Private Cloud, we felt it was important to build in additional features that will help fix cloud-related problems more quickly while allowing companies to make the most of their experience using the cloud.”
Vital Signs gives IT professionals visibility into an application or server’s real-time performance, showing them the root cause of IT problems. In effect, it allows them to identify and fix the cause of the problem instead of dedicating their resources toward fixing only the symptoms.
The new features work within a company’s current operating environment to make the Microsoft Private Cloud run more smoothly than ever before. In addition, it helps identify and troubleshoot problems so they can be addressed in a timely manner.
As a diagnostic tool, it has three new core features. It allows instant identification of application roles running on virtual machines (VMs). Then, real-time performance of applications running VMs is monitored so that problems are seen immediately and can be fixed before they cause glitches or crashes. Finally, it provides you with historical data on performance and events, allowing users to efficiently troubleshoot problems that happened when they weren’t watching.
“Letting you know where problems are likely to occur helps you prevent them from happening in the first place,” Douwe van de Voort, Business Strategist at Savision said. “Having the historical data at your fingertips allows you to fix problems more quickly.”
Vital Signs also has three new capacity management features for the Microsoft Private Cloud. These features have been designed to make it easier to manage the experience with the cloud today, and plan how to allocate cloud-based resources into the future.
Vital Signs will let customers know which hosts and virtual machines are running low on resources so tasks can be directed elsewhere, keeping the system stable and performing well. Then it will show which hosts and virtual machines have capacity to spare, allowing tasks to be moved from overloaded hosts and VMs. At the same time, it will provide predictive analysis about resources and capacity so IT infrastructure can be planned into the future.
“This will make it easy to prevent IT problems caused by mis-allocation of resources,” Stefanie Richheimer, CEO at Savision said. “You’ll be able to make the most out of the resources at your disposal.”
